Job description

  • Reporting to the Technical Director, the buyer ensures the supply of standard purchase requests transmitted to him and ensures that the merchandise is available in sufficient quantity, while respecting delivery deadlines.

  • Responsibilities

  • Place orders authorized by its department with suppliers;

  • Review purchase requests and decide on strategies with suppliers - work with the Technical team to improve products to be purchased and create value

  • Make sure to follow up on orders to meet deadlines;

  • Update information on suppliers, make sure you have the right information on prices and discounts;

  • Check inventory levels daily;

  • Find sources and obtain prices from catalogs or suppliers and prepare purchase orders;

  • Calculate the cost of orders and request payment or send invoices to the departments concerned;

  • Communicate with suppliers to schedule deliveries and resolve issues of missing items, missed deliveries and other issues;

  • Prepare and maintain purchasing records, reports and price lists.

  • Pick up delivery slips and enter data into the system

  • Follow-up of orders in progress: ensure compliance with deliveries, Remind late suppliers; Order for inventory updates

  • Assist transport / delivery operations

  • Estimation support, ie request for price quotes from suppliers, Communication with vendors, Classification of bids for monitoring of purchases, Purchase order for equipment

Requirements

  • College (AEC)

  • 5 years relevant in project purchasing

  • French and English (oral and written)

  •  AEC in supply management or any other combination (s) of training related to the proposed job;

  •  3 years or more of experience in a similar job in the manufacturing sector, preferably cabinetmaking;

  •  Good knowledge of a software package (ERP) and inventory management

  •  Know the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.);

  •  Be organized and precise in the tasks to be accomplished

  •  Ability to manage priorities and emergencies

  •  Have good judgment and problem-solving skills

  •  Be Versatile (e);
