QUALITY ASSURANCE COORDINATOR

 

Job Description

The quality assurance coordinator is responsible for ensuring that customer requirements are met throughout the manufacturing process. S/He participates directly in inspections during manufacture and ensures the correction of anomalies. In collaboration with the production and project management departments, s/he must drive improvement projects in order to prevent non-quality issues.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a culture of self-control (self-inspection)

  • Train and coach production employees in respect of standards

  • Improve the production start-up process, First Article Inspection (FAI), Implementation of the Key Quality Characteristics monitoring processes

  • Represent the Project Managers (and client) regarding the respect of the quality of projects

  • Audit company processes to ensure monitoring and continuous improvement

  • Plan and coordinate control points according to the characteristics of each project

  • Participate in inspections of orders received (suppliers), furniture in process, and finished products

  • Delegate quality control tasks

  • Document the anomalies and perform the root cause analysis, then improve the processes accordingly (feed-back)

  • Ensure compliance with sample procedures

  • Develop and carry out continuous improvement projects that will improve product quality

 Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment

  • Good knowledge of high-end cabinetmaking

  • Knowledge of wood finishing (opaque lacquer, stain, varnish)

  • Knowledge of metal, plastic, fabrics, leather is an asset

  • Master the reading of plans

  • Be comfortable with basic computer software (office, pdf, email)

  • Demonstrate a good sense of analysis, rigor and a critical mind
